Autauga
Early Archaic (9000-7000) B.P.
The  Autauga point is another rare find in East Tennessee.  It is also very difficult to tell this point from some of the other small corner notched points found in this area.  The following details should help you Identify them.
Characteristics:
SIZE :  These are small points measuring about  3/4" to  1,1/2", with most being around 1".
KEY FEATURES: Triangular blades many with sereations.  The base is weakly side-notched and tends to have wide shallow notching.  The base is usually ground and is straight to slighly concave.  Though rare, some show distinct beveling on alternate sides of the blade.
THICKNESS:  Thin  to Medium
SIMILAR TYPES: Palmer,  Big Sandy,  Ecusta
FLAKING:  Archaic:  Many show excellent flaking  with serations.
Note - The Ecusta point is almost identical to the autagua , the difference being that it is steeply beveled and has a more rounded base
