The Bradley Spike is my second most commonly found point (13% of total). This late-archaic point seems to show up on almost every site that I hunt and is a common solitaire find anywhere in this part of Tennessee. This point is fairly easy to identify and though it shares traits with some of the other spike type points it is by far the most common in this area.
Characteristics:
SIZE : These are small to medium points measuring about 1" to 3", with most being around 1,1/2".
KEY FEATURES: Narrow with nail-like Spike shaping, the cross section appears triangular on many. Some have needle tips and tapered or slightly rounded base.
THICKNESS:Thick with some exhibiting some natural rind on the base and sometimes the middle crown .
SIMILAR TYPES: Buggs Island, Mountain Fork, New Market, and Schild Spike
FLAKING: Archaic to random most of medium quality.
