Point ID
Madison

Mississippian, (1100-200) B.P.
The Madison point is my third most frequently found point (9%)and shares some of the same characteristics and sites as the Hamilton point.  This point was a true arrowhead and was in use at the time Europeans first encountered Native Americans in the Tennessee valley.  It is associated with the Mississippian cultures and their mound like compounds.  This arrowhead was used by the Cherrokee in this area of Tennessee until the introduction of firearms in the 1700's.
