The Morrow Mountain Complex of points are a well represented group of middle archaic points in this area of Tennessee, (5%) according to my records . These points are named for Morrow Mountain, N.C., but are common finds in this eastern part of Tennessee
Characteristics:
SIZE : These are medium to large points measuring about 1,1/2" to 5", with most being around 2".
KEY FEATURES: Teardrop shaped blades variations as follows:
Morrow Mountain: Weak shoulders, with short rounded stems, or stems that are contracting and only barely visible, can be weakly barbed.
Rounded Base:Short rounded base and no detectable shoulders, can have a straight or convex base.
Straight Base: Strongly barbed with a tapered to near straight sided base, stem is slightly tapered in to the base, can be serrated and have a needle tip.
THICKNESS:Thin to Medium
